There’s a party at FLIGHT, and you’re invited!

We can’t wait to host you! We hope you enjoy your visit to our studio, and we’ve assembled a checklist to make sure that you come prepared for a good time!

Party Checklist for our young guests:

  • Primary Guardian waiver endorsement

Please remember that if your participating party guest is a minor, they will need a waiver for a minor signed ONLY by one of their legal guardians. Minors without a waiver signed by their legal guardian will not be allowed to participate!

There are three ways you can sign your waiver ahead of the party:

    1) print, sign and bring the PDF version here,

    2) create an account with us for you, and one for your child (you can “manage” one with the other). You will electronically sign a waiver in the process, and your child’s account allows us to quickly check them in and add them to the party. You’ll also be ready to take advantage of the offer we send guests post-party.

    3) Paper waivers are also available up front at our studio, but please remember these are for legal guardians only, so don’t forget to sign one before you leave if you are dropping off to ensure your child will be able to participate!

  • What to wear?

Kids’ parties generally use our silk slings, so we like to make sure our young guests come dressed to move! Tight leggings that cover the backs of the knees (better with no flare) and a shirt that won’t flip over their head if they are upside down are a must! Also check your child for jewelry; dangly earrings, bracelets, rings, toe rings, nose rings and necklaces should come off to avoid getting snagged in fabric.

  • Points for Good Behavior

Some kids are very excited to try aerials, and our studio can admittedly look a bit like a playground, but listening skills are incredibly important! We need to make certain our young guests are listening well to instruction and only doing things they are being guided through by our instructors, for their safety. This means we may need to reign in their enthusiasm at times. Instructors will halt activity that has potential to harm students, instructors or equipment. Guests are barred from demonstrating self-taught skills, or skills learned outside our studio.

Conversely, some young guests are very fearful of aerial activity! Tipping backwards, being upside down, even being at a tiny bit of height can be very intimidating, and we will never force a child to participate, we will only gently encourage them. We generally have them sit and watch, checking in periodically to see if they would like to join in yet. We ask that parents have the same empathy, and leave the aerial instruction to us!

  • Medical, mental, emotional….

If your child has a medical condition or is taking medication that has the potential to make aerial activity unsafe, or if your child has a fear of heights, or an aversion to physical spotting (we ask before we touch), let us know and we will do our best to navigate those considerations! We want all of our guests to be comfortable!

  • What about food?

It’s good to eat a tiny bit before your visit, but avoid heavy foods, as spinning and inverting can be tough on a full stomach, so plan snacks before the studio visit accordingly! Kids’ parties usually schedule pizza, soda and water AFTER aerial activity time, so there will be time to refuel!
