New to FLIGHT? Start Here!
Curious about aerial arts or pole but not sure where to begin? You've come to the right place!
At FLIGHT, we believe aerial arts and pole dance are for real people—not just people who are already flexible, strong, or coordinated. Our classes are designed to help you build strength, body awareness, confidence, and new skills while having a genuinely good time doing it.
Whether you've never touched an aerial apparatus before or you're coming to us with experience from another studio, we'll help you find a class that's right for you.
And just as importantly, you don't have to already feel like you belong here to walk through the door.
FLIGHT is known for being welcoming, inclusive, and a little bit weird—in the best possible way. We're proud to be an LGBTQIA+-friendly studio, and our students come from all kinds of backgrounds, bodies, and experience levels. Our more experienced students are some of the first people to cheer on a newcomer, and we love seeing students encourage each other and celebrate each other's progress.
You don't have to be part of a particular "type" of person to fit in at FLIGHT. Come as you are.
What can I try at FLIGHT?
We offer a variety of aerial arts and pole classes, so there's something for lots of different interests and experience levels.
Split Fabric
Climb, wrap, spin, drop, and move through the fabric in a variety of ways. Split fabric offers the familiar feel of aerial silks with two separate tails of fabric.
Dance Pole
Pole combines strength, movement, dance, spins, climbs, and conditioning. Our pole classes can be adapted to a variety of experience levels and goals.
Silk Sling
Soft supportive aerial fabric hung in a long loop at hip height. Rolls, climbs, balances and drops provide a great introduction to aerial dance.
Lyra (Aerial Hoop)
Aerial hoop is a steel ring suspended from above. You'll learn poses, mounts, transitions, spins, and sequences while building strength and control.
Do I need experience?
No!
Many of our classes have beginner-level options specifically designed for people who are brand new to the apparatus.
You do not need to arrive already strong, flexible, graceful, or experienced. Those are things you'll develop with practice.
Our beginner classes introduce skills progressively, so you can learn the fundamentals while getting comfortable with the apparatus and with moving your body in a completely new way.
And if you're nervous about being "the least experienced person in the room," don't be. Everyone starts somewhere.
Already have experience?
If you've trained at another studio or already have experience with aerial arts or pole, you may not need to start at the beginner level.
Contact us and we'll help you find the appropriate class for your experience.
What are classes like?
FLIGHT classes are drop-in style, which means you don't have to commit to a multi-week session or start at a particular point in the year.
You can come once to try something new, attend regularly each week, or build your own schedule around your life.
Our classes are taught progressively, so you'll work on skills appropriate to the class you're attending while developing your strength and abilities over time.
Some classes—such as choreography or performance-focused classes—are especially rewarding when attended regularly, but you are never required to attend every week unless a particular class specifically says otherwise.
Class sizes are limited because we need enough space and equipment for everyone to train safely and comfortably.
What should I expect at my first class?
It's completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first aerial or pole class.
You'll be learning something new, and chances are you'll see people doing things that look completely impossible at first. That's okay. They're showing you what can happen with practice—not what you're expected to do on day one.
Your instructor will guide you through the skills and exercises appropriate for your class, and you can work at your own pace.
When you arrive, you only need to be about 5 minutes early. Kick off your shoes, put your things in the cubbies in the front room, grab your water bottle, and have a seat in the foyer. Your instructor will round everyone up and bring you into the studio space when it's time for class.
That's it. We'll take it from there.
What should I wear?
Each apparatus has slightly different clothing requirements, but you don't need an expensive collection of specialty workout clothes to get started.
Check out our What Do I Wear to Class? page.
What does it cost?
We offer single classes, class packages, monthly subscriptions, and an unlimited membership, so you can choose what works best for the way you want to train.
And if you're brand new to FLIGHT, we have a special offer to make trying us out easy: our Welcome to FLIGHT 4 Class Package gives you four classes to use during your first month at a discount!
It's a great way to try different classes and find the ones that are right for you.

Ready to try it?
The easiest way to get started is to browse the schedule and find something that looks interesting.
If you're brand new to aerial arts or pole dance, look for classes labeled 101. You can also use the schedule's tags to filter classes and find the type of class you're looking for.
You don't need to know everything before you book. You just need to pick a class and give it a try.
If you're not sure which class or level is right for you, contact us and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
A little nervous?
That's okay.
You don't have to be naturally athletic.
You don't have to be flexible.
You don't have to know what you're doing.
You don't have to look a certain way.
You just have to be willing to try.
Come as you are. Find your people. And come see what you're capable of.
